It all began in Crescent City, California, which is located 20 miles south of the Oregon border on the beautiful coast nestled in between the ocean and the redwoods. Everything was going along just fine, then my Wife suggested that we go to Los Angeles to see, "Phantom Of The Opera" on stage. Well, we went down and saw "Phantom", and toured Los Angeles.(My wife being born in Hollywood)As we traveled around, I began to see all of the attributes of living there. I mean, anything that you could ever need or want was within a few minutes drive. So we packed everything up and headed out. I was transfered down to Valencia, and my wife got her old job back in Toluca Lake. Things couldn't be better! We were supposed to move back into the same apartment that she had previously lived in for six years. We landed in Sylmar in a motel while we waited for two or three days while our apartment was being prepared for us. Unfortunately, about one hour after checking into the motel, we tried calling the manager of the apartment, who informed us that the person that was occuping our apartment had decided NOT to move. There we were, stuck in a motel with three kitties! And, on top of that, the motel informed us that under no circumstances would we be allowed to skip even one day of housekeeping, whether, or not we were there or not! Not wanting to have our kitties "escape" we were pretty much tied down to the motel.

Being in between both my wife's job, and my job, we decided that we would look around the "Canyon Country" area, thinking that it was closer to my work. We couldn't have been further from the truth! I still had to travel about 23 miles, and my wife about 30! (Of course I was used to going about 2 or 3 miles to get everything that I could ever want "up north" including my workplace.) And to top it all off she had to go WITH traffic to and from work!! Needless to say, it just didn't work out too well, plus here we were still living out of boxes because we had to take a small one bedroom apartment while in possession of 2 1/2 bedrooms full of stuff. Our one bedroom was "packed" to the ceiling with furniture, boxes, and most everything else. After about two weeks of that we decided that we had had enough. I called my former boss in Crescent City and inquired about job openings. He said, "no problem, I have three or four openings right now, and you may have one of them if you want." So we rented a truck, loaded up every thing, and headed back up to Crescent City. We arrived back there, and, moved into an upstairs/downstairs (townhouse) two bedroom apartment. Three days later, we decided that we couldn't "handle" that type arrangment and moved into a two bedroom on just one floor. Then I went to talk to my old boss. He now tells me, "we really don't need anyone right now as I'm tring to reduce our budget"! If I wasn't such a nice person I would have taken the law into my own hands!! Now I had to go home and tell my wife what he said. You could have heard her if you had been outside anywhere in the continental USofA!! Now, needless to say, we are both upset. Then we decided that we wanted to be anywhere but Crescent City, so, back to Canyon Country we go. Well, at least I got plenty of exersize moving back and forth! So here we are in a one bedroom full of boxes again.

Now I'm looking for a new job. In about one week, I found one in PetSmart in Valencia, about 15 miles from our apartment. My Wife was still traveling the 30+ miles to Toluca Lake, unfortunately going with rush hour traffic to and from work. After living in that hot desert area for about two months, we,(she),insisted that we get into what she considers Los Angeles, come "Hell or High Water"! We finally found a one bedroom apartment, close to where we originally were moving to, about 4 blocks away, in a really, bad, neighborhood, right in the middle of a "Ghetto". I couldn't believe the difference a few blocks could make. Now I was the one that had to drive the 30+ miles to work, but at least I was going against traffic. Besides being in a bad location, there were other terrible problems as well. I don't believe that my wife's 38 caliber revolvers left her hands all of the time we lived there. There were quite a few "Wild" cats running all over the neighborhood. We were feeding as many as we could, until our landlord decided that he would come by one day and shoot them all! He was definetly out to get "all he could" along with all his other tenants and most of the neighbors too. We only got to save one, at least, and that would be "The Little " on my "Cats" page.
